Power Move! Pelicans sign Rajon Rondo to 1 year deal

The New Orleans Pelicans have signed free agent Rajon Rondo to a one year deal, a source confirmed to The Undefeated’s Marc J. Spears on Saturday. This can mean big things for New Orleans basketball. Rajon Rondo was a powerhouse in last year’s playoffs before breaking his thumb. We feel that this is a perfect fit! With AD and Boogie, we definitely just became a playoff contender.

The Pelicans re-signed Jrue Holiday to a five-year, $126 million guaranteed deal that could be worth more than $150 million with incentives, but they were intrigued by the possibility of shifting Holiday off the ball for large chunks of games, sources told ESPN.

Rondo played along side of Cousins in the 2015-2016 season with the Sacramento Kings. In that one season, Rondo led the league in assists with 11.7 per game, and 11.9 points per game. We also heard that Cousins played a large role in getting Rondo to come to New Orleans. This season just got real!

How do you feel about the Pelicans decision to sign Rondo? Let us know in the comments below.
