It was only April 6, 2018 that Drake pinpointed bounce music on the map with his release of “Nice for What”. We saw the internet go hard to that triggaman beat and the hype on bounce all around on the horizon. But for all of us in New Orleans, Bounce is like a heartbeat: it’s essential to our lifestyle and will make ya move up and down.
Reigning in as the “Queen of Bounce,” Freedia has been known to make some of the most historic bounce songs. When speaking about the EP, Freedia talks about having explored an array of sounds with each track. The EP is a mix of five songs and includes a feature by Lizzo, who Freedia refers to as a “force”.
In the article below , Freedia tells Rolling Stone Magazine that “Bounce is feel-good music, and we need that right now.” Since the start of bounce, its music has served as a staple for the New Orleans community.
Check out the article below for more insight on Freedia’s creative mind behind the EP, the set track list, and what you can expect come June 1 from the Queen Diva herself.
