The show’s purpose is to bridge the gap between New Orleans black female artists. The annual show is designed with women and feminine energy in mind.
She explains, “The night is really about bringing together these women artists and showing the city that what they create is powerful. A woman’s energy is really like no other so it is important that this represents that in the most authentic way.”
She follows up, “Obviously we want people of all genders and races to come and look, but I really wanted to build a space for black women’s voices to be heard through their art.”
Last years show took place at Propeller Incubator and featured local artists such as: LanesLense, Amber Sharlene (Ivey), the poet ICON, KAGE, and DJ Legatron Prime
This year showcases work from Kara Mariee, The Artist Jade, Cierra Chenier of Noir N Nola, Miesha Williams, Autumn Lovelace, Koloured Dimensions, SJ Walker, and Lex and will be at Grow Dat NOLA
The exhibits have interactive elements as well as visual elements to create a truly one of a kind experience.
This year’s show is September 29th at Grow Dat Nola from 5 pm-9pm.
