What started as a love for thrifting has grown into two fashion brands centered on confidence, individuality, and self-expression.
Yolanda Love, owner of Art of Style and co-founder of Erixieo, discovered vintage fashion while searching for unique pieces that stood out from traditional retail stores. Through thrifting, she learned how to blend vintage clothing with modern style, creating looks that feel both timeless and relevant. Her passion for fashion naturally evolved into styling. After years of helping friends and family put together outfits, Love landed her first styling client, creating a performance look for a singer appearing at the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival. Today, her styling work and retail business complement one another, allowing her to connect clients with one-of-a-kind pieces that reflect their personalities.
As a Black and Mexican entrepreneur, Love says her heritage influences both her work ethic and business philosophy. “Both sides of my heritage understand struggle, perseverance, and the importance of hard work,” she said. “I bring hustle, strength, resilience, and creativity into everything I do.” At Art of Style, Love focuses on what she calls “modern vintage,” carefully selecting pieces that fit seamlessly into contemporary wardrobes. “My goal is for people to notice your style, not simply that you’re wearing something from the 1960s or 1980s,” she said.
When working with styling clients, she starts by helping them identify the feeling they want to project, believing confidence begins with authenticity. Like many entrepreneurs, Love has faced challenges with visibility, growth, and work-life balance. Through those experiences, she has learned to trust her instincts and build a community that aligns with her values.
For aspiring business owners, her advice is straightforward: do your research, keep learning, but don’t wait for the perfect moment. “There is no perfect time, perfect plan, or perfect business,” Love said. “At some point, you have to take the leap.” Through Art of Style and Erixieo, Love continues to help people embrace what makes them unique while proving that fashion can be both personal and empowering.
