5 Things you need to know about the Lil Weezyana Fest

Lil Wayne is holding his annual Lil Weezyana Fest next week on August 25th. This festival is a premiere hip-hop event in New Orleans. It has received a lot of press since the first one in 2015 that featured the Hot Boys, DJ Jubilee, and Master P. Although Lil Wayne has been caught in an on-going legal battle with Birdman, he has made time to continue the festival in his hometown.

Lil Wayne is by far one of the most talented musicians to come from New Orleans. He has made history more times than we can count, and always puts his music first. Check out our top five things you need to know about the Lil Weezyana Fest below!

1) The festival has featured some of the biggest names in hip hop.

For the inaugural festival in 2015, Lil Wayne featured: Master P., Drake, Curren$y, Kidd Kidd, and many more. The headliner was a Hot Boys Reunion special that electrified the crowd. The second annual Lil Weezyana Fest featured a special performance with 2 Chainz. That year they released their joint project ColleGrove.

2) This is the 3rd annual Lil Weezyana Festival

We are excited to see what Wayne has in store for this year’s fest. The first two were amazing and we are sure he is not going to disappoint. This show is set to feature: Gucci Mane, YoungBoy Never Broke Again, Denisia, Rich The Kid, and Kodi Shane.

3) Lil Wayne will bring out his new artists at the festival.

We are sure that you’ve already heard of Jay Jones, the new Young Money artists from 0017th. He rapped with BTY YoungN, and has definitely witnessed his growth. We know for sure that he’s going to be in the building.

We also heard of a new duo that is down with the Mula Gang. Vice Versa is a group consisting of two guys name Yaj and Poppy. We’ve seen them along side Jay Jones and can only wonder if Lil Wayne has something in store for them for the festival.

4) The festival will be at Champions Square

For all the Wayne fans wondering where the concert will be held. The festival will be held at Champions Square. You can also purchase tickets here.

5) Proceeds from the event are donated to help New Orleans

Lil Wayne donated some of the proceeds from previous shows to his foundation Tha Carter Fund, designed to help under privileged kids in New Orleans.
