New Orleans Saints Linebacker Pete Werner Signs 3-Year Contract Extension, Report Indicates

NEW ORLEANS — The New Orleans Saints have reportedly extended linebacker Pete Werner’s contract for three more years after reaching an agreement on his new deal. According to sources, this extension could be worth up to $20 million, with $12 million guaranteed.

This updated deal will secure Werner’s spot with the Saints through the 2027 NFL season. The news was initially reported by NFL Insider Adam Schefter. As reported by Schefter, Werner was entering the final year of his rookie contract before this extension.

Werner, who was originally selected by the Saints in the second round of the 2021 NFL Draft, has displayed remarkable performance since joining the team. Notably, in the 2022 season, Werner’s consistent play helped solidify his role as a key player in the Saints’ defense. Werner has committed to continuing this high level of play, currently preparing vigorously in Irvine, California.
