Did you know that Lucky Daye is from New Orleans?

Daye first made a debut in the music arena as a contestant on Season 4 of American Idol. He auditioned with Sam Cooke’s “A Change Is Gonna Come.”However he was eliminated after reaching the Top 20.

Currently he is signed to Keep Cool Records and RCA Records.

According to vice.com spent the first eight years of his life as a member of a now-defunct Christian church that imposed strict rules governing how he was allowed to live his life. Growing up listening to popular music was considered a sin.

Daye first established himself as a songwriter and background vocalist, and across 2008 and 2009, landed credits on material by Keith Sweat (a handful of cuts on Just Me) and Ne-Yo (“She Got Her Own”). During 2016 and 2017, he co-wrote songs released by Keke Palmer (“Enemiez”), Ella Mai (“10,000 Hours,” “Down”), Trey Songz (“Song Goes Off”), and Mary J. Blige (including two tracks off Strength of a Woman), among other contemporary R&B artists.

In October 2018 released his first single called “Roll Some Mo,” which led to two grammy nominations one for best R&B song, another for best R&B performance.
