More Than Drinks and Meals: How Biscuits & Buns is Redefining New Orleans Hospitality

Step inside Biscuits & Buns on Banks, and you’ll immediately notice it feels different from your average neighborhood establishment “Our Cozy Home’ is really about creating a place where people feel comfortable, welcomed, and connected,” says the team. “When guests walk through our doors, we want them to feel like they’re visiting friends or family.” That sense of family extends directly onto the menu, which expertly balances elevated comfort food with deep-rooted tradition. From their signature shrimp and grits and crispy catfish dishes to rich boudin, flaky biscuits, and pillowy beignets, the kitchen team takes classic Southern flavors and elevates them without losing their soul.

“We don’t chase trends,” they explain. “We focus on serving food that reflects our city, our culture, and the people who support us. That’s why guests from all over the country come to us looking for an authentic New Orleans experience.”

If you want to understand the true culture of Biscuits & Buns, look no further than a story from just last week. A guest returned to the restaurant to share an incredible update: a year prior, he had a deep conversation about life and relationships with the owner. That heart-to-heart gave him the confidence and perspective he needed to propose to his partner. He returned to announce his engagement. “That meant a lot because it reminded me that what we’re building goes far beyond food,” the owner reflects. That care for people radiates outward into the local community. Biscuits & Buns consistently steps up when New Orleans needs them most. From sponsoring the Conrad Park youth football team and donating to the Jacoby Jones Foundation, to providing meals for families displaced by the Gentilly Ridge apartment fire and supporting local schools like Warren Easton High School, they are active members of the neighborhood fabric.

For the owner, a lifelong Gentilly resident who has traveled the world as a musician and entrepreneur, there is simply no place like home. “People often ask if I’d ever leave, and the answer is simple—I won’t. New Orleans is home. Everything we’re building is rooted here, and our goal is to continue investing in the people and communities that have supported us from the beginning.” As Biscuits & Buns looks to the future, customers can expect continued growth, fresh culinary experiences, and even stronger community partnerships. Yet, no matter how big the footprint gets, the core promise remains exactly the same. “At the end of the day, if we’ve done our job right, people won’t just remember what they ate—they’ll remember how we made them feel.”
