Yasha Clark to represent Louisiana in Miss Black USA Pageant tomorrow!

New Orleans, LA – Yasha Clark, a 27-year-old attorney bested 43 women across the state of Louisiana to be named Miss Black Louisiana USA 2019.

Clark will represent the state of Louisiana at the national Miss Black USA pageant on August 11th in Washington, D.C.

Growing up, Clark experienced a troubled childhood including emotional abuse and neglect.  It is her mission to use her law degree and crown to help break the generational poverty cycle by advocating for public policy that ensures no child in the state of Louisiana goes hungry.

Clark’s platform #BreakTheCycleLA brings awareness to the adverse effects of hunger in the state of Louisiana.

Clark received her Juris Doctorate from Southern University Law Center, and Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice.  She is also the author of The Little Book of Prosperity and has donated over 300 hours to Southern University Law Center’s Pro Bono Committee.  Clark is ready to take the fight to feed children to the Louisiana State Legislature.

Miss back USA is the premier pageant for women of color.  The non-profit organization was founded in 1986 seeking to provide educational opportunities to outstanding young African American women and to develop the whole woman, mind, body and spirit. To date, the pageant has awarded more than $450,000 in scholarships. Please contact Leon Valentine at pr@missblackusa.org or via phone (404) 386-4189.
