In a significant and celebratory event at the National World War II Museum in New Orleans, nearly 100 individuals from more than 30 countries were granted U.S. citizenship on Thursday, October 26, 2023. This solemn event, held in the U.S. Freedom Pavilion: The Boeing Center, marked an important chapter in their lives as they pledged their allegiance to the United States. The ceremony featured the Pledge of Allegiance and was officiated by Sandra M. Gutierrez, district director with the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS).

This naturalization event on Thursday also took place in honor of Veterans Day. The new citizens took the Oath of Allegiance during this special ceremony, conducted by United States District Court Judge Greg G. Guidry, further underlining its importance. Many participants brought their families, creating a moment of shared joy and pride. The event stands as a testament to the American spirit of welcoming diversity and embracing those who seek to join the country’s enduring legacy of freedom and democracy.
