SWAY’S ‘Friday Fire Cypher’ with Don Flamingo

Hands down, one of the most lyrically talented rappers to come out of New Orleans is Don Flamingo. Excited about his upcoming collab album “ONLY IN AMERICA” (The Don King Theory) that he is preparing to drop with KingiKeem this April, I began to reminisce.

Having signed to Jay Z’s RocNation, he is an artist all New Orleans rappers should aspire to be. His lyrical talents go above and beyond, and the content of his words stay close to his heart. He speaks truth to power.

In the interview, you can see SWAY’s excitement on getting the chance to interview Don. They cover a variety of topics from Don’s extensive list of New Orleans artists he’s worked with, making the “Tidal Discovery” Playlist, and most impressive, his live freestyle.

“I’ve worked with every artist in the city….Wayne, BG, C-Murder, Mia X, signed to Mannie Fresh for a minute, Chopper City Boys, Skip, Kidd Kidd, Curren$y, Dee-1, 3DNaTee…”

Additionally, they discuss Don’s past life, and how he got into music. “You got an interesting story to tell,” says SWAY. Learn more about that story below. Be sure to watch the entire interview below and make it to the killer freestyle he spits at the end.

Lastly, be sure to stay on alert for April 1, 2019 when Don Flamingo drops his collaborative album with KingiKeem titled “ONLY IN AMERICA”. KingiKeem is certainly another New Orleans native rapper to keep your eye on and peep out if you haven’t in the past.
